I finally made it to the Farmer’s Market this evening. It’s tough getting away even though the market is only two blocks away. When I do go I always get my knifes sharpened and most of the time I buy berries from Pudwill Farms. I use the berries in Saturday morning scones. Tonight I purchased 6 pounds of figs from Andy at Pudwill Farms. They were perfect, not overripe and bursting at the seams. I love figs, but when they get to the point when they’re overripe I can’t eat them. Tonight’s figs were good.
After the restaurant closed I spent an hour or so making jam. It’s chunky, sweet and deep purple. I packed them in 12 ounce jars. They will be ready for sale tomorrow for $9.50 a jar. Let me know if you want one.
