A New Community Table

As summer fades  and fall  appears Fiore Market Cafe prepares for cooler temperatures and way to create a cozy space inside for our wonderful guest. Anne and I love the look and feel of our two community tables. One is a simple picnic table top on  two by four legs built by my neighbor. The other table is eight feet long and an inch and half thick. It’s made of maple and was designed to be used in a bakery. We tore off the metal legs and fastened four by four legs at the corners. It’s a wonderfully heavy table that seeps oils when in direct sun, but thankfully we have kept it fairly dry.

I am looking to built a smaller community table for inside the cafe. I saw this picture on Pinterest and knew immediately that this is what I want. I understand tthe table top is an old Chinese door. The legs were custom made for the table.

I envision early evening dinners at this table. Six to eight people sitting around the table enjoying a meal.

A week ago I planted raddicchio, radish and arugula seed. In one weeks time they have sprouted. When you are at the cafe take a look. I got my seeds on line at   Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company Take a look.
