I thought you might enjoy a few photographs from the past week. I love these artichokes. They’re deep purple and look fantastic. I haven’t cooked with them yet, but hope to soon. The tomatoes in the bowl below are from the garden. They’re called sun golds.
All the tomatoes are starting to ripen and we’ve begun to use them in the kitchen. The tomatoes will be an integral part of the grilled eggplant and mozzarella sandwich tomorrow. Stop by to try one. It’s a great vegetarian alternative to our short rib sandwich.
We are still offering the San Giuliano Extra Virgin Olive Oil in Half liter bottles for $11.95. Refills are only $8.95. This is the same olive oil we use exclusively in the restaurant.
Another new item is our Curried Tempeh Salad. It comes on a bed of mixed greens with a lemon vinaigrette with diced avocados, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes (from the garden), sugared walnuts, raisins and diced mango. A fantastic salad for vegans and anyone interested in a light summertime salad.

I tried the curried tempeh salad last week, and I must say it was the best tempeh salad I have ever eaten. The well-chosen combination of flavors was a nice surprise. Do not shy away because it is “curried.” The curry seasoning is light and well balanced by all of the other things going on in the salad. I will be back for more!
