Summertime at Fiore

I thought you might enjoy a few photographs from the past week. I love these artichokes. They’re deep purple and look fantastic. I haven’t cooked with them yet, but hope to soon. The tomatoes in the bowl below are from the garden. They’re called sun golds.

All the tomatoes are starting to ripen and we’ve begun to use them in the kitchen.  The tomatoes will be an integral part of the grilled eggplant and mozzarella sandwich tomorrow. Stop by to try one. It’s a great vegetarian alternative to our  short rib sandwich.

We are still offering the San Giuliano Extra Virgin Olive Oil in Half liter bottles for $11.95. Refills are only $8.95. This is the same olive oil we use exclusively in the restaurant.

Another new item is our Curried Tempeh Salad. It comes on a bed of mixed greens with a lemon vinaigrette with diced avocados, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes (from the garden), sugared walnuts, raisins and diced mango. A fantastic salad for vegans and anyone interested in a light summertime salad.

Here are just a few new photographs from the past week.

We have a new tempeh salad on the menu. It’s made with curried tempeh and vegenaise with fresh mango and avocado. It’s completely vegan. We also have a tuna salad sandwich on special. It’s served on our homemade bread with avocado, tomato and lettuce.
